The attendance at the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in 1977 made it evident that setting up a Pilgrims’ House was necessary. The prior of the Religious House in Gietrzwałd, at the time, Father  Franciszek Martuszewski CRL, commenced construction of the project. He encountered great difficulties and many obstacles during this time, and the building progressed very slowly. It took over 10 years to build, and was finally completed by the new prior Father Jan Brzozowski CRL in 1989, at which time the first pilgrims would be able to stay in the new Pilgrims’ House.
